Learn more about what data is shared with Franklin community

Updated over a week ago

We value your data privacy. Franklin is both HIPAA and GDPR complainant as well as ISO-27001 certified. You can check our complete privacy policy here. This article provides a short description of "Franklin's data sharing policy", so you could be sure that your data remains safe.

Franklin has 3 group levels with different sharing configurations: My organization, my closed community, and the Franklin Global community.

My Organization

All the organization members have access to all the organization's data. These are the teammates that you have invited when creating the account, or current members of the organization that you have joined. This means that they will have access to all your cases and curated variants. Managing your organization members is done on the settings page. Remember - you have the option to invite \ remove organization members at any time.

My closed community

Any organization can form a closed community with several other organizations. This allows a group of organizations to share more detailed data than is shared with the Franklin Global Community. Variant interpretations and classifications will be shared with all closed community members and can be found under the "Community Classification" tab. In addition, all the closed community curated variants will be listed on the "My variants" page. You have the option to filter the list by the different organizations within the community and see the different organization's classifications. Your closed community members will not have access to your organization cases.

Franklin Global Community

All Franklin signed users are part of this global community spreading over 44 countries and more than 20,000 users to date. Sharing and contributing to the community is done actively by selecting "Share with the community" or in the variant community feed. Aggregated data is also shared in the "Franklin Global Community frequency" and "Similar cases". This is done in a completely anonymized way and will not show where the variants originated from. We do encourage our community members to share more in-depth data to improve our community diagnostic yield.

You have the option to select what to share, and who to share it with - your data is secured with us.
